Date/Duration

2022 – 2027

Project Outputs

Integrity leads the USAID Bureau of Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) Somalia Monitoring and Learning Project II (SMLP II), which provides continuous feedback to the BHA, Implementing Partners (IPs), and other key stakeholders on project and activity progress, supports rapid decision-making, and facilitates ongoing learning and adaptation. In collaboration with our partner, Management Systems International (MSI), our consortium delivers innovative third-party monitoring (TPM) services to BHA programming across Somalia. The BHA’s Somalia portfolio includes agriculture and food security; humanitarian coordination; economic recovery and market systems; and emergency health interventions.

Central to our approach is the establishment of a comprehensive learning system for the BHA and IPs to ensure that monitoring becomes a tool for adaptive management and IP capacity building. This includes a virtual reporting platform that will provide the BHA with user-friendly and timely access to the monitoring data and analysis collected through our monitoring activities. Learning takes place through a variety of mechanisms, including facilitated discussions and feedback mechanisms on the virtual reporting platform; aggregated reports with actionable recommendations; formal learning events; and ad hoc ‘learning moments’ with the BHA and IPs focused on learning and adapting in crisis.

Integrity has worked in Somalia since 2011, coordinated from our Regional Headquarters in Nairobi and developed a reputation for delivering high-quality research and data and translating evidence into action. We are honoured to work on SMLP II and continue to build upon our work in Somalia through the UK FCDO’s Learning and Monitoring Program Somalia (LAMPS), in addition to our Evaluation of USAID/Somalia’s Alternative Basic Education for Pastoralists (ABE) Activity.
