Integrity Peer Reviews MERL Tech ‘State of the Field’ Paper
MERL Tech, is a platform for discussion, learning, and sharing experience and challenges with the use of technologies for Monitoring, Evaluation Research and Learning (MERL) in the social impact, humanitarian and international development fields.
MERL Tech recently published a series of four ‘State of the Field’ papers. The papers identify lessons, trends, issues in the MERL Tech field, looking at events from the past five years. Integrity peer reviewed the fourth report, Emerging Technologies and Approaches in Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning.
Integrity was invited by MERL Tech convener Linda Raftree to participate in the peer review after attending the MERL Tech conference 2019 in Washington DC last year. The conference explored how technology enabled and enhances the field of monitoring, evaluation, research, and learning (MERL) in international development work. During the conference Senior Data and Knowledge Manager Will Lowrie, Senior Expert, Monitoring Evaluation and Learning, Kathryn Rzeszut and former colleague Giselle Lopez presented at two sessions: one showcasing our work developing a digital third-party monitoring platform for DFID’s Learning and Monitoring Programme Somalia, and another facilitating a workshop on doing data collection in challenging environments.
