Recently completed project: Review of USIP and FreeVoice’s Youth Radio Programme to Promote Peace and Stability in South Sudan
In 2014, the United States Institute of Peace (USIP), in collaboration with FreeVoice, aired a radio drama series in South Sudan, targeting youth.
The drama series was designed to promote peace and stability in South Sudan, by empowering youth to be confident, open-minded, and participatory citizens. USIP engaged Integrity to conduct a programme review to understand, to the extent possible, whether the main messages in the radio series resonated with young listeners and to measure whether the programme made progress towards intended objectives. Integrity’s researchers used a mixed methods approach for this study, conducting FGDs, surveys, and participant observation with groups of listeners in Juba and Wau over a 25-week period.
