Media Training In South Sudan
Integrity have been appointed by Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) to help set up a media centre for local and international journalists in Juba, the capital city of South Sudan. Run by the Association of Media Development in South Sudan (AMDISS), the centre will be a useful resource for local reporters but also those travelling to the region to cover the country’s independence on July 9.
The centre was founded in 2003 and successfully campaigned for a new media law for South Sudan. However, lack of funding forced it to scale back activities until NPA donated money for a three-year project. Our first order of business will be to begin hiring staff for the centre, then start planning activities and events to put it on the media map in South Sudan. Stay tuned for further updates.
